Krista A. Storey has recently entered private practice after a distinguished 38-year career in the public sector, including 25 years as a Senior Assistant County Attorney specializing in land use and comprehensive planning. Throughout her career, Krista navigated complex regulatory environments, balancing environmental protection with property rights, leading to intense public involvement and litigation. She played a key role in representing government departments in these disputes.
Having worked with multiple local government entities, Krista possesses an exceptional understanding of the processes and procedures required by local, state, and federal governments. She has served in various capacities, including acting county attorney, representing boards and committees such as the Local Planning Agency, Board of Zoning Adjustment, Code Enforcement Board, and more.
Although not a litigator, Krista has served as a land use subject matter expert, assisting both in-house and outside counsel in land use and comprehensive planning litigation, and working to avoid litigation through the negotiation of settlement agreements. She has also focused on code enforcement, contractor licensing, and matters related to building codes, including negotiating settlement agreements in code enforcement matters.
Krista's interactions with various governmental bodies have given her a deep understanding of the operations of different government offices. Her experience extends to working with constitutional officers and navigating the intricacies of regulatory compliance at multiple levels.

Krista grew up in Longwood, Florida, earned her undergraduate degree from Florida Technological University (now the University of Central Florida), and taught high school math and chemistry for two years before attending Florida State College of Law, graduating in 1983. She is the mother of three sons and has resided in Fort Pierce since 1997.
